Description of Disability:

In this case,the bones of the foot had multiple comminute fractures. The skin had been avulsed and tendons torn and exposed.

Treatment:

Initially, the bones were fixed in position and dead tissue/contaminants removed. Two days later, the exposed bones and tendons were covered by muscle transferred micro surgically and skin grafted. The patient was able to walk after 3 months normally.

Post operative care: 

Routine measures of rest, elevation and immobilization.
